HEALINGTHOUGHTS

Redesigned the digital experience for a wellness-focused massage therapy business. The goal was to create a serene, user-friendly website aligned with the brand’s calming values, streamline the booking process, and establish a strong digital presence across platforms

Client and Goals

Healingthoughts Massage Therapy is a home-based business founded by a Registered Massage Therapist offering holistic healing through the power of touch. The business was new, and the client needed a complete visual identity, website, and marketing foundation.

Goals:

  • Build a serene, professional brand identity

  • Design an accessible, mobile-optimized website

  • Make the booking experience smooth and client-friendly

  • Launch the site in time for the grand opening

  • Support early-stage marketing via social media

Market Research

  1. Target Audience:

All ages seeking wellness, stress relief, and therapeutic massage in a peaceful, home-based setting.

  2. Popular Competitors:
    • Hand & Stone – Franchise spas with standardized offerings

    • Local RMTs using Jane App with little brand customization (e.g. Care2Cure)

    • Independent wellness practitioners on Instagram

  3. Market Trends:
    • Preference for natural visuals, calming aesthetics, and clean layouts

    • Shift toward self-booking through digital platforms

  4. Style Preferences:
    • Minimalist, neutral-toned design

    • Natural elements (stones, lotus, abstract linework)

    • Calming typography and soothing motion

My Role and Collaboration

This was a solo-led design and development project in close collaboration with the client. I was responsible for:

  • Brand strategy and identity creation

  • Logo design (exploring multiple concepts and refinements)

  • UI/UX design and layout

  • Website development using Framer

  • Booking flow integration

  • Social media asset design

  • Domain and email setup

Design Process

  1. Discovery & Strategy

Worked with the client to understand their business goals, target demographic, and stylistic preferences.

  2. Sketching & Ideation

Created wireframes and logo sketches, experimenting with lotus flowers, abstract figures, hands, and stone stack imagery.

  3. Visual Identity Design

Finalized a custom, vector-based logo and selected a color palette rooted in dark green and beige neutrals. Font choices balanced elegance with accessibility.

  4. Web Design in Framer
    • Developed a clean, responsive website that includes:

    • Service listings and descriptions

    • Pricing details

    • Booking via Jane App

    • Contact form and map

    • Grand opening landing page with countdown

  5. Feedback & Launch

After several rounds of feedback and edits, we launched the website on a custom domain. The client was also provided tools to maintain content post-launch.

Findings

  • Clients valued mobile optimization and straightforward navigation

  • Clear visuals and language helped establish trust and professionalism

  • A polished brand identity helped increase perceived credibility
